Dear National Park Service,
I’ve watched this tree grow over the years. It’s now big enough that people have to work to see around it. I understand the need to let nature take its course. I understand that someday this tree may be large enough to provide shade here. I understand the thermal feature may choose to remove this tree. I understand the need to protect and preserve. I also understand the need to allow for the enjoyment of.
If there is any way, could this boardwalk be shifted a few feet to the left for a decade or two? Or if not the boardwalk, perhaps at least the sign could shift?
Thank you for your consideration in this matter.
Sincerely,
Me
I was surprised to see this new addition – a bench WITH a back to it; somewhere for people to wait if they don’t want to trek around the Geyser Hill Loop. The boardwalk looks much better as well. Great work, Maintenance Crew! You can read more about the maintenance needed for the boardwalks in the May 2011 article in the Billings Gazette.
