West Thumb is one of the prettiest places in the Park – thermal features on the shore of Yellowstone Lake make for some great sunrise shots. While it doesn’t have many geysers, the beauty of the pools and the vast amount of change seen in them even within a month makes it a relaxing and interesting place to visit repeatedly. Due to the constant changes seen at West Thumb, pages for the most part will have the most recent photo available on them.

Many of the names here are not formally adopted names – updates will come to note which are formal and which informal names. If some do have names, please send an email or leave a comment on the thermal feature’s page.
